toddler car seat, I have a small car and want to try Advocate Britax?
I have a small Ford and I am interested in buying the new Britax Advocate 70 cs.
I am worried it is too big for my car.
1. Does anyone have any feedback about putting the Advocate in a small car?
2. What other good car seats are you using in small cars?
Thank you
You’d be better off with the Frontier–they’d end up being the same height because the Advocate is a convertible seat whereas the Frontier is not. With convertible seats, you have the added height of the base for rear facing positions taking up extra space. Plus, with that base, it’ll be wider, so your toddler would be more likely to be closer to the ceiling and hitting the back of your seat. I’d rather get the Frontier which gets you 85 lbs in a harness instead of just 70 and then it converts to a booster to 120 lbs, should you need one to that weight. Plus, Babies R Us sells them in the store (you’d have to call yours to see if they have them in stock–they sell fast) to see if you could test one out to make sure it fits. Seems like a win/win to me!
Babies R Us has always let me test car seats in my car first. I’d find one with the maximum weight/height limits with the best safety specs that fits. Granted, they tend to sell a lot of crap brands like Eddie Bauer/Cosco/Safety 1st, Evenflo, and Graco. Although, I will, give Graco credit for trying to better themselves with the My Ride.

The new seats have not come out yet, so it will be hard to judge how big it will be. The Graco Myride is suppost to fit well in some small cars. I would recommend going to http://www.car-seat.org and doing research there. The people on that board can help you with your questions.
